Conflict and Dramatization in Talk Shows: As A Tool for Audience Engagement
Abstract
This article analyzes the role of conflict situations in talk shows and their impact on audience psychology. In particular, it examines how artificial or constructed oppositions are used to engage viewers, intensify discussions, and enhance the dramaturgy of the program. The study also highlights the importance of the host’s role, emphasizing their professional skills in maintaining communication between participants and the audience. The talk shows “O‘zimizda” (ZO‘RTV) and “Munosabat” (Uzbekistan TV channel) are analyzed as case studies to explore directing approaches, interactivity, and the use of visual tools. The findings suggest that dramatization, conflict, and the host’s competence are key factors determining the effectiveness and appeal of talk shows.
