Instructions for Authors

Global Journal of Humanities and Social Sciences (GJHSS)

The Global Journal of Humanities and Social Sciences (GJHSS) is an international, peer-reviewed, open-access journal that publishes original and high-quality research in the broad fields of humanities and social sciences. Authors are requested to carefully read and follow the instructions outlined below to ensure a smooth submission, review, and publication process.

1. Types of Manuscripts Accepted

GJHSS considers the following types of scholarly contributions:

  • Original Research Articles

  • Review Articles (Systematic or Narrative)

  • Conceptual and Theoretical Papers

  • Case Studies

  • Comparative and Interdisciplinary Studies

  • Policy Analysis and Applied Research

  • Short Communications (where appropriate)

All submissions must present original work that has not been published previously and is not under consideration for publication elsewhere.

2. Language and Writing Style

  • Manuscripts must be written in clear, concise, and grammatically correct English (British or American English consistently).

  • Authors whose first language is not English are strongly encouraged to have their manuscripts professionally proofread before submission.

  • The writing should be scholarly, objective, and free from personal or informal expressions.

3. Manuscript Preparation Guidelines

3.1 General Formatting

  • File format: Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx)

  • Font: Times New Roman

  • Font size: 12 pt

  • Line spacing: 1.5

  • Margins: 1 inch (2.54 cm) on all sides

  • Page numbers: Bottom center or bottom right

3.2 Structure of the Manuscript

Manuscripts should be organized in the following order:

  1. Title Page

  2. Abstract and Keywords

  3. Main Text

  4. References

  5. Tables and Figures (if any)

  6. Appendices (if applicable)

3.3 Title Page

The title page should include:

  • Title of the manuscript (concise and informative)

  • Full name(s) of author(s)

  • Institutional affiliation(s)

  • Country of affiliation

  • Corresponding author’s email address

3.4 Abstract

  • Length: 150–250 words

  • The abstract should clearly state the purpose, methodology, key findings, and significance of the study.

  • Avoid citations, abbreviations, and undefined symbols.

3.5 Keywords

  • Provide 3–6 keywords immediately after the abstract.

  • Keywords should reflect the core content of the manuscript and assist in indexing and discoverability.

3.6 Main Text

The main text of original research articles should typically include:

  • Introduction

  • Literature Review

  • Methodology / Research Design

  • Results / Findings

  • Discussion

  • Conclusion

Headings and subheadings should be clearly numbered or formatted consistently.

4. Tables, Figures, and Illustrations

  • Tables and figures should be numbered consecutively (Table 1, Figure 1, etc.).

  • Each table and figure must have a clear title and source (if applicable).

  • Figures should be of high resolution and suitable for publication.

  • Tables and figures must be cited in the text.

5. Citation and Referencing Style

  • GJHSS follows the APA (7th Edition) referencing style unless otherwise specified.

  • All sources cited in the text must appear in the reference list and vice versa.

  • Authors are responsible for the accuracy and completeness of references.

6. Ethical Standards and Publication Ethics

The journal adheres strictly to international publication ethics.

Authors must ensure that:

  • The manuscript is original and free from plagiarism.

  • All authors have made significant contributions to the research.

  • Proper acknowledgment is given to funding sources and contributors.

  • Any conflicts of interest are clearly disclosed.

  • Research involving human participants complies with ethical standards and approvals.

Plagiarism, data fabrication, falsification, or unethical research practices will result in immediate rejection.

7. Peer Review Process

  • GJHSS follows a double-blind peer review process.

  • All submissions are initially screened by the editorial office for scope, quality, and compliance with journal guidelines.

  • Manuscripts passing the initial screening are sent to expert reviewers.

  • Editorial decisions are based on reviewers’ recommendations, academic merit, originality, and relevance.

The Editor-in-Chief’s decision is final.

8. Revision and Resubmission

  • Authors may be requested to revise their manuscripts based on reviewers’ comments.

  • Revised manuscripts should be submitted within the specified timeframe.

  • A detailed response to reviewers’ comments must accompany the revised submission.

9. Open Access Policy

The Global Journal of Humanities and Social Sciences is an open-access journal, allowing unrestricted access to published articles to promote global knowledge dissemination.

All published articles are freely available online without subscription barriers.

10. Article Processing Charges (APC)

  • Information regarding Article Processing Charges (if applicable) will be communicated to authors after acceptance.

  • No submission fee is charged.

  • APCs, if applied, are used to support editorial, peer-review, and publication services.

11. Copyright and Licensing

  • Authors retain the copyright of their work.

  • By submitting to GJHSS, authors grant the journal the right to publish and distribute the article.

  • Proper attribution must be given when the work is reused or cited.
